The legend behind Lenovo
In 1984, eleven computer scientists in Beijing, led by Liu Chuanzhi, had a vision: Create a company that would bring the advantages of information technology to the Chinese people. Setting up office in a small bungalow, Legend was established, a company that would open a new era of consumer PCs in China. Legend blossomed into the nation's largest PC manufacturer, today accounting for nearly one in three PCs sold in China. In 2003, Legend changed its brand name to Lenovo, taking the "Le" from Legend and adding "novo"—Latin for "new"—to reflect the spirit of innovation that is at our core.
